Dear Leader,

You have always wanted to make a difference and you already have! AWE Foundation invites you to join The AWE Project - to empowered women economically by Achieving Women Enterprise. COVID -19 has had a devastating impact on the US economy and it has negatively affected women of color to a disproportionate extent. This requires the need for a program that specifically helps them become economically independent. One solution for this recovery is to offer women a toolkit of skills that helps them become more successful entrepreneurs. Based on the success of AWE Foundation’s leaders’ prior programs which received unprecedented funding support for 6 rounds of funding from the US State Department, we have demonstrated impact evidence that empowering women economically is a fundamental unlock of a potent yet underutilized resource of any community – its women. Through The AWE Project we seek to empower Black & Latinx women of low and moderate income households. We do this to empower them economically to spur inclusive, gender balanced economic development. It is a targeted initiative to assist 25 women entrepreneurs and Detroit, Mi is the first launch city. The AWE Project includes a four (4) day virtual entrepreneurship skills boot camp (December 8 through December 11, 2020) followed by a structured bespoke mentoring program over 6 months (Jan 2021 to June 2021), with the objective of empowering these women entrepreneurs to achieve high growth impact, to propel not only their businesses forward, but also encourage them to grow their communities by committing to paying-it-forward. We are seeking US based mentors and experts who want to join this movement and make a change! The US based experts will be required to interface online and remotely with the 25 selected mentees for Phase 2, for a total of 30 hours over six months (from January 2021 to June 2021). We will host an Information and Q&A session on Sunday, October 18, 2020 from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. If you are interested, we welcome you to send us information on yourself in the accompanying form. Deadline for application: November 1, 2020. ROLE OF THE MENTORS FROM THE USA Mentors offering remote mentoring - Phase 2 Mentors, will be expected to: 1. Be available to meet remotely, (or in person should COVID-19 subside) one-on-one with assigned mentee. 2. Requested to meet once every month for six months (Total commitment of 30 hours over 6 months). 3. Be available to be spokespeople for the Project on an as needed basis Phase 2 mentors will be required to: 1. Participate in biweekly calls in November & December 2020 to: a. Help develop the course content based on topics identified b. Help develop workshop format, as needed c. Help monitor success of the program 2. Offer suggestions on organizations with which The AWE Foundation may collaborate to amplify the program 3. Fill in surveys at the beginning, during and completion of the Project. Estimated 8-10 short surveys. 4. Suggest ways to improve the effectiveness of the project including amplifications, impact, sustainability and scalability concepts
